city only selling tevez for 50m!

Manchester City have told Carlos Tevez he can leave - but only for £50million.
Tevez has reiterated his desire to leave City, but the club’s hierarchy say they will not sell him on the cheap and insist that any deal will be done on their terms.
City manager Roberto Mancini is ready to strip Tevez of the captaincy and hand the armband to Vincent Kompany following the Argentina international’s latest show of disloyalty.
But Tevez, currently on international duty in his homeland at the Copa America, said he is determined to push through with his plan to quit City.
I do not wish to be speak about this any more,” he said. “The message I have already sent out is clear enough.”
Tevez’s representatives said the 27-year-old has no desire for a fall-out with City and is desperate to reach an amicable agreement with the club over his depature.
“Carlos doesn’t want any controversy and desires a friendly solution with Manchester City,” said a source close to the striker.
But with City determined to play hardball with their want-away skipper, in terms of getting the maximum market value for their star player, Tevez and agent Kia Joorabchian could be forced to play a long, waiting game.
Real Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan are seen as Tevez’s only options for an escape from his perceived nightmare at City, but there are few clubs willing or able to meet City’s £50m valuation and fork out £200,000-a-week on his wages.
Although Boca Juniors, the Buenos Aires club where Tevez began his career, are keen on taking him back, City’s asking-price has put them out of the running.
Although Tevez cited his reason for wanting to leave as a desire to be with his wife Vanessa and two daughters, who live in Buenos Aires, City believe such talk of personal reasons to be a smokescreen.
Having failed to engineer a move away from City for Tevez last December, Joorabchian is determined to secure a lucrative transfer for him and his client this time.
Tevez’s Argentina team-mate, Javier Mascherano, said: “I know the distance between Carlos and his children is hard for him. It is damaging for his work. He is more content [when he is] with them in Buenos Aires.”

LEAVE IT OUT! HOW TEVEZ'S REASONS FOR WANTING MOVE HAVE CHANGED
Carlos Tevez has changed his tune over the past seven months when it comes to his reasons for wanting to leave Manchester City.
December 2010: “My relationship with certain executives and individuals at the club has broken down and is now beyond repair. I hugely resent the management’s suggestions that I have been unduly influenced by others.
“I’m disappointed the management should now see fit to try to portray the situation in another light.”

Gael clichy signs for man city!!

Arsenal full-back Gael Clichy has signed a four-year deal with Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The 25-year-old moves to Eastlands for a reported fee of £7m.
The defender, who joined the Gunners from French club Cannes in 2003, is City boss Roberto Mancini's first signing of the summer.
"I'm really happy to be joining such a great club. I hope I can add to the quality we already have here because we have a fantastic squad," he said.
"I can't wait to get started and I think anything is possible with this team."
The defender, who joined the Gunners from French club Cannes in 2003 and has 10 France caps, will contest the City left-back position with Aleksandar Kolarov.

Gael Clichy in focus

  • Made his Arsenal debut on the same night as Cesc Fabregas - in a League Cup win over Rotherham in October 2003
  • At 18 years and 10 months, Clichy became the youngest player to win a Premier League medal in 2004
  • Made 266 appearances for Arsenal, scoring two goals
  • Has won 10 caps for France, and featured in their squad for the 2010 World Cup
And the Frenchman immediately directed a jibe at his new side's closest rivals, Manchester United.
"I understand that the people who live in Manchester are the true fans - they are from City," he told the club's official website. "That is a good point. I won't be bothered by United fans."
Clichy reportedly told Arsenal he wanted to leave last month and had also been linked with Liverpool and Roma.
The Frenchman spent the first half of his career with Arsenal as cover for Ashley Cole but became a regular in Arsene Wenger's side over the past five seasons following Cole's move to Chelsea.
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes that selling Clichy represent a "good bit of business" for Arsenal.
"He was making mistakes at key moments and he wouldn't have been especially pleased with what he achieved at the club," said Keown.
"Whether or not Kieran Gibbs is going to be the replacement or not, I still feel that Wenger should buy another left back."
Clichy will be officially unveiled during City's forthcoming tour of the United States and Canada.
His move comes at a tricky time for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, with playmaker Cesc Fabregas again being linked with Barcelona.
Midfielder Sami Nasri has also been tipped to leave the club and is thought to be a target for both Manchester City and Manchester United.

Nasri not for sale!

It has all left Arsenal with a major dilemma - whether to sell this summer or risk losing him for nothing next year.
But the club have now told Nasri’s representatives that he is NOT for sale.
It is believed even £25m may not be enough to land the Frenchman, who returns to training tomorrow (Thursday).
Clearly, Wenger and the Arsenal board recognise that losing Nasri on top of the departures of Gael Clichy, who was sold to Manchester City on Monday, and Barcelona-bound Cesc Fabregas would be seen as a huge own goal by the Gunners' fed-up fans.
Wenger is also convinced that a combination of a new contract, new signings such as Lille forward Gervinho and a promise of a more central role next season after Fabregas’ departure will be enough to persuade Nasri to stay.
Fabregas was at the Arsenal training ground yesterday, but only worked in the gym with his personal trainer Juan Ferrando.
Wenger was not at training on Tuesday but is expected to appear today as Arsenal and Barcelona continue trying to thrash out a deal for the Spanish midfielder.
Arsenal are holding out for £40m but know that Fabregas is only interested in going to Barca, whose second offer was just £34m.
Fabregas has been used in Arsenal’s pre-tour publicity on the club’s website for their trip to the Far East, which is likely to become another own goal as he is hoping to complete his move by the weekend and is unlikely to be fit if he doesn't.
Arsenal are hoping to clinch the Gervinho deal and want Gary Cahill and Alex Chamberlain. They like Jose Enrique too, but need to offload unwanted members of the squad to balance the books.
Arsene Wenger will play hardball with Samir Nasri and tell the unsettled midfielder he is going nowhere.
France midfielder Nasri has become a target for both Manchester United, Manchester City and Inter Milan after stalling on a new £90,000-a-week contract offer.
The 24-year-old, who has one year left on his current deal, has made it clear he wants Arsenal to prove their ambition before he commits himself to the club, so could be ready to be the next big name to quit.
City have already made an enquiry, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is keen and agents are trying to broker a deal.

liverpool sign charlie adam

Liverpool have reached agreement with Blackpool for the transfer of Scottish midfielder Charlie Adam.
Adam, 25, travelled to Merseyside on Wednesday for a medical and to discuss personal terms.
In the January transfer window the Reds had two bids - the second worth £6.5m - rejected by the Seasiders, who were reportedly holding out for £9m.
But Liverpool reopened talks at the end of the season for a player who had only 12 months left on his contract.
Adam, who was on the shortlist for the PFA Player of the Year award last season, joined Blackpool from Scottish Premier League club Rangers for £500,000 in 2009.
He was close to joining Tottenham before time ran out in the January transfer window earlier this year.
If Adam joins Liverpool, he will become boss Kenny Dalglish's second signing since they finished sixth in the Premier League last season.
Charlie Adam is going to a club with better players and he will get more of the ball. He will be a shrewd signing for Liverpool.

Another midfielder, Jordan Henderson, arrived from Sunderland in June for a reported £20m.
Roma's Brazilian goalkeeper Alexander Doni could complete a move to Liverpool in the next 36 hours, according to his agent Ovidio Colucci.
The clubs reached agreement over Doni's transfer last month but the keeper could not agree personal terms.
"We just have to ratify certain details with Roma," said Collucci. "If the deal is completed, Doni will join Liverpool on a free transfer and will sign a two-year contract."
Liverpool had a £15m bid for England winger Stewart Downing rejected by Premier League rivals Aston Villa on Tuesday.
And while reports suggest Villa are holding out for £20m, BBC Sport understands the club do not want to lose Downing at any price
